EmailOctopus is a simple, intuitive and affordable email marketing platform. We’re a small company making a big impact — with a growing customer base around the world, we’ve gone from strength to strength over the past seven years. Some of our current clients include Jaguar Land Rover, Universal Music, Bear Grylls, WaterAid and NPR.

We’re looking for a skilled Product Designer who can help us make it even easier and enjoyable for our users to reach their audiences.

The role

All of our existing design work has been created by outside agencies, so as our first designer you’ll have the freedom to put in place the frameworks and technology you need to succeed. You’ll use this to:

• Understand exactly what our existing and prospective users want from the platform.
• Prototype and present beautiful visual designs.
• Work with lean principles, delivering minimal marketable features to empower our users to build stunning emails and manage significant volumes of data.

Key requirements

We’re looking for someone with:

• The ability to design beautiful interfaces for 50,000+ users, the majority of which are small businesses. Ideally this experience would be in SaaS and/or email marketing, but that’s not essential.
• Experience understanding a problem, creating a solution, and turning it into a prototype ready for developers to work on.
• An ability to apply your design expertise across the business. The majority of your work will be in Product and UX, however you may be asked for input on other areas of design such as brand or social.
• Flexible thinking and a willingness to work across multiple disciplines within a small, accomplished, team.
• The ability to work with a high degree of self-motivation and limited supervision. We’re a small company, and all team members work with a high degree of autonomy.
• Permission to work in the UK and able to spend at least two days a week in our London office.
